This lab intensive workshop will help to improve splinting efficiency and take the fear factor out of splinting. Learn principles of mobilization and immobilization splinting for upper extremity rehabilitation.
Learn to master the mechanics of splint fabrication with special techniques, low cost options, and helpful hints that let you create cost conscious upper extremity splintsóquickly and easily. Therapists will learn to problem-solve splint design issues, enhance splinting skills to fabricate professional looking, comfortable splints to meet patient needs, and gain confidence in upper extremity assessment as relevant to splint making.

Instructor bio:
Elizabeth Spencer Steffa, OTR/L, CHTis an Occupational Therapist since 1969 and a Certified Hand Therapist since 1991 and is presently a clinician in private practice. She has been a clinical faculty member at the University of Washington since 1987, a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists since 1979.
Betty is nationally respected for her workshops on hand rehabilitation, physical modalities, and splinting. She is coauthor of the chapter "Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Peripheral Nerve Injuries" in Trauma Rehabilitation by Lawrence R. Robinson--Lippincott and Wilkins, 2006.
